Canadian Federal Budget 2016

March 22nd, 2016 marked the release of the 2016 Canadian Federal Budget. This budget has been highly anticipated as it will give Canadians a view of how the Trudeau Government will work. The environmen t and climate change was an important promise mentioned during the 2015 election, where the Liberal's moved from under dog to a sweeping majority. Finance Minister Bill Morneau sees the budget as a tool for change, saying “To shape the future we must invest in the future” in his maiden budget speech. An important aspect is their promise to invest in discovery research which will help Canada to become a frontier in green technology. They will invest $2 billion over three years to campuses to fund research, this will help make campuses cleaner today. To summarize Chapter 4: A Clean Growth Economy- this is an an immediate investment that can make a difference now, for future success. Water

Water is a basic need. Without water we can only live so many days, yet it is becoming harder to find. We are experiencing droughts at astronomical rates, our lakes are becoming polluted, and our ground water is contaminated.  Our water has been on this Earth for billions of years, why the sudden change? This change is due to... Pollution Global Warming But we can make a change. David Suzuki has started a movement, called Blue Dot. Communities will come together to pressure governments to "recognize, protect and fulfill every person's right to live in a healthy environment." Learn more about  Blue Dot  and ask friends to join. You'll be apart of a movement that is not only protecting you, but the future. This movement is only the beginning in protecting our water.  This will create a discussion, once we succeed, we can continue to make progress.
